Falleciendo en 1911.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fu\u00e9 un verdadero lider del ajedrez en la Asturias de la \u00e9poca. Fund\u00f3 el C\u00edrculo de Avil\u00e9s donde organiz\u00f3 diversas actividades relacionadas con el ajedrez, incluso lleg\u00f3 a traer a Asturias al maestro Janowsky en 1911 tal como se refleja en el peri\u00f3dico \u00abEl Noroeste\u00bb.\u00a0 Particip\u00f3 en el primer torneo espa\u00f1ol de ajedrez postal organizado por la revista francesa La Strategie en 1888 obteniendo el segundo puesto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adem\u00e1s de excelente jugador, era poseedor de una gran biblioteca sobre el juego y hemos podido encontrar colaboraciones suyas en las revistas de la \u00e9poca como: \u00abEl Pablo Morphy\u00bb, \u00abLa Revista Internacional de Ajedrez\u00bb, as\u00ed como en el peri\u00f3dico asturiano El Noroeste.\u00a0 Incluso lleg\u00f3 a cartearse con reconocidos te\u00f3ricos del s XIX como Max Lange, al que aport\u00f3 informaci\u00f3n sobre partidas in\u00e9ditas de Pablo Morphy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mostramos a continuaci\u00f3n una de sus partidas, aparecida en \u00abLa Strategie\u00bb en mayo de 1889.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Blancas: <\/strong>Fern\u00e1ndez Pozo; <strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Negras:<\/strong> A.
